Braeview Glamping - meet your hosts

The idea of Braeview was born in 2018/2019 when we used to spend our time trying to find peaceful caravan sites for the weekend to escape our busy working lives in Greater Manchester. It's hard to believe that Braeview opened in May 2021 and this crazy idea has come to fruition with the help of friends, family, & fantastic local tradespeople. It's been a rollercoaster but we would have it any other way.

I was brought up on the farm where Braeview is situated. After leaving when I was 18 (a long time ago!) to study Rural Business Management at the SAC, Aberdeen I had jobs in Agriculture and the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry. In a career change to get back onshore, I studied Massage Therapy.  The course taught me so much more than just Anatomy & Physiology. Since then, I've developed an interest in Wellbeing and Braeview is just an extension of that interest. Downtime and the ability to escape the hustle and bustle of busy lives is essential to maintaining a healthy mind and body. Braeview is somewhere to recuperate and rest in the peace of nature without having to sacrifice any home comforts.

When we used to come and visit Berwickshire I loved the open space and peace of being at the farm. When we moved in 2020 it was exciting and a total change for me. We had sold our house and gambled everything on making Braeview a success, so the only option was to make it work! Over the last 4 years we have learnt lots of new practical skills and I've embraced the outdoor life. I've always lived in the busy North West of England, so life in the country has been new to me, but I've loved learning about the farm and the local area. We are so lucky to live here and so far the gamble seems to be paying off. I still work in IT, but have been lucky enough to find work locally, so I get to help out at Braeview at weekends and evenings.
